The Church of the Good Shepherd/ James Stumper

This is the Church of the Good Shepherd in Holbrook, New York. The reason why a Catholic Churchreflects the identity of Holbrook so well is because the majority of Holbrook’s population is eitherItalian or Irish. These immigrants from Europe brought their heritage and religion with them to America,including their religion. Ever since the 1930’s, these Catholics in Holbrook looked to establish a place togather and worship. A council was established and they eventually gained enough money and supportto build a Catholic Church. Since the early 1980’s, the Church of the Good Shepherd has been Holbrook’splace of Catholic worship.
